Hmm, Yami Bakura does say that the Thief was "simply a pawn" when he turned the guy to dust and the Thief became clueless of what was going on and didn't come off evil to want to summon Zorc. This leads me to believe that Yami Bakura was never TRULY the guy to begin with but simply using him to play out the past events to resurrect himself. The way we saw the events play out in Season 5 didn't exactly play out the way they did initially. The Millennium World arc had the Thief chained and escorted and looking stoned out of his mind, to which Yami Bakura got involved from the present era and took over the body, broke free and changed the course of things. But why was the Thief chosen to be a "pawn" as opposed to anyone else if he shares no link with Zorc? Well, he's easily regular Bakura's past-life and with Yami Bakura sharing bodies with him, this brought about a connection with Bakura's spirit and thus manifested in wanting to share a body with his past-life.

Obligatory gushing about Pendulum Swings by LuckyLadybug: I like how they handled it in that series in that even Yami Bakura is confused about his identity at first, and half his redemption arc is deciding who exactly he is (symbolized perfectly by Yami B having two forms after being revived - one that looks like how he looked when possessing Bakura and one that resembles his ancient self, and he swaps depending on "who" he feels more like). It's established in the Pendulum Swings 'verse that Zorc was possessing Yami B so subtly even he didn't notice it (it was a Kaiba Pyramid of Light situation where Zorc tricked Yami B into thinking Zorc's thoughts were his thoughts), and after millennia of this Zorc had subsumed Thief King Bakura into himself so completely that they essentially were one entity. It was to the point that destroying Zorc in his canon defeat and splitting Yami B off from him again mortally wounded Yami B, leaving his soul shredded (until an angel comes and gives him a good-magic powered counterpart to the Millennium Ring, the Infinity Ring, setting off his redemption arc)

It was actually the most confusing as the only rule was when the hourglass finishes Zorc is released. And apparently they were playing the pass like a chess game. With Pieces like Yugi and Shadi and Bakura using Kaiba to revive himself.
@@misterOrca4I think it was a callback to Yami Bakura's first appearance where he was Game Master for a DnD game where he sealed everyone's souls in their game pieces and then inhabited the boss villain role Dark Master Zorc.
But what about the part where Yami Bakura takes over Thief Bakura when he enters the memory world? Also, when he leaves Thief Bakura’s body? There’s even a scene in the anime where only Zorc’s arm appears and he grabs Thief Bakura and tells him, “Bakura, find the 8th key”, or something like that. Does that mean that Zorc was talking to himself, since Thief Bakura was possessed by Yami Bakura who is really Zorc?
I think yami bakura is both Thief king and zorc. However, yami bakura is also similar to Atem. Atem when he first awoke was much darker because if memory serves me right. He also had a piece of zorc with him. But the love of his friends caused Atem to grow into his own person. Meanwhile yami bakura never really gave himself that chance or perhaps he did try.
This is all basically true (Yami Bakura is Thief King Bakura's soul completely consumed by Zorc's), but I should point out one difference regarding the Millennium Ring. In the manga, Zorc's soul does not exist in it from the start, and Mahad just says that absorbing and amplifying evil is a natural power it has; according to Bakura it's Akhenaden who later sealed a piece of Zorc's soul in the ring. Whereas in the anime, a piece of Zorc's soul IS in the ring from the beginning, as seen from the moment it and the Millennium Tablet arise from the earth in Akhenaden's flashback.
I think there's still some part of thief king Bakura, and it think this because of present bakura, if thief king bakura had disappeared completely it would be weird for him to have a present reincarnation like Seto, Yugi and Salomon have.
@@samuelkohi4415 What? The manga and anime makes it clear or imply they're reincarnations, Current Seto specifically as he has a connection to Blue-Eyes since Priest Seto was dating that girl who was inspired to become the dragon. What would be the meaning of that if they weren't the same? The anime even has Atem talk on how he wished Current Seto saw how honorable he was "serving by his side" referring to Priest Seto. Explain that one. Yugi is somewhat of a reincarnation since some of Atem's soul was sealed but not all of it and the other part went onto become Yugi. This is why Yugi was destined to have the Puzzle and solve it and became "one" with Atem. They were basically each other's halves. Yugi was the lighter side and Atem was the darker one.
@@devontehuntley6274 if you watched closely in the end of episode 224 when Atem entered the afterlife you could see Priest Seto among the souls waiting for him while Kaiba was watching him leave. Kaiba is NOT Seto's reincarnation but a doppelganger. The same is with Yugi and Atem. The very fact that Yugi and Atem are completely difderent people shows that they are NOT reincarnations. Maybe Takahashi did not understand the concept of reincarnation right.
@@samuelkohi4415 Again, maybe some soul portions pass on and others get reincarnated? I don't know. But the two Setos are the same or else explain Seto's fascination with Blue-Eyes and his own "past life" that is constantly brought up over the show. You don't even refute anything I bring up that destroys your arguments. The Battle City arc with Ishizu where she was taking him to the past to see why he was so obsessed with the dragon and showing Priest Seto and then during his duel with her in Battle City where he had to unlock the secrets of his past to change the future where he was to lose the duel and again, Atem's statement when he's sitting on the thrown in Season 5 that I point out. They're the same person dude. The Current Kaiba even asks Atem "Does that mean we're cousins". The dub even has Ishizu during the final duel say Yugi is the reincarnation of Atem and given what I said, it makes sense. They're two halves of each other that came back together but also now living as their own entities. There's clearly a deeper meaning to why they look identical and that includes other characters like Bakura, Seto, etc. who have Egyptian counterparts or else why even have them LOOK THE SAME?
It's gotta be Zorc using Thief King Bakura as a Vessel. There was a Page in the Manga where Bakura was laughing about how Savage he was in the past telling the raiders that he also had lost memories
It bothers me when Yu-Gi-Oh fans misinterpreted Yami Bakura as Thief King Bakura. In the manga, in the Japanese sub, and in the English dub, it all says the exact same thing: Yami Bakura IS Zorc. That's stated directly in all 3 pieces of media. It wasn't a manga to anime issue. It wasn't a sub to dub issue either. All 3 say the same regarding Yami Bakura as Zorc. I genuinely think some Yami Bakura/Marik fans can't accept this for their precious ship lol. Hence they misinterpreted that Yami Bakura was Thief King instead of Zorc.
I will say this: The Shadow Memory RPG in the anime complicated the Bakura issue. In the original manga, there's only _two_ Bakuras active: The original Dark Bakura narrating the Shadow Memory RPG, and the virus Dark Bakura implanted all the way back in Dragons Dice and Dungeons (or Dungeon Dice Monsters in the localization) finally seeing a use. Thief King Bakura was simply a character card in the manga, not that that stopped the virus from planning with him and Aknadin's spirit in the RPG itself through their character cards. While I can't remember if the virus actively possessed Honda in the manga, I do know the virus was esaentially the last extra life Dark Bakura had; once the virus died to Yugi, the last hope he had was winning the RPG to have Zorc fully reborn in the modern world... _and in the end with Memory World Zarc dying, so too did Dark Bakura._
For the lineup? I think the thief king died. The ring spirit is a piece of Zork that too lost his memories and mostly based his new personality or focus around the thief king. As while Atum was his own entity he too lost most of his memories, but could still act based upon his feelings or shared connection through yugi. Leaving Zork classic as a sort of separate, but same entity. One who is the ring spirit fully restored, but again... Trapped by a mixture of his own ego keeping with the modern update thief king personality. After all why pick that as his human avatar in a realm made up of memories when he could have picked any person or even went back to his RPG dice format body from early yugioh or season 0 days?
Bakura this Bakura that, I mean Bakura is just Bakura right? How complicated can Bakura get? Bakura and Yami Bakura are really cool characters. I wish Bakura was relevant in the earlier seasons. Well I guess that's all I have to say about Bakura.
I sometimes believe that Bakura could have had a character Arc similar to Tommy Oliver from Power Rangers, which make sense since Tommy was also a mind puppet for an evil entity before being freed. The only difference was that unlike Tommy, Bakura wasn't able to use any of his old powers for good, which could have made his character Arc a bit better.
Yami bakura the best of all time or Zorc he wanted revenge for his tribe but he is the most powerful character not only in yugioh but in all anime in world he will be in our heart❤❤❤my favorite the best of all character in every anime yami bakura

@@ScionStorm1 What the heck is "DID"? I also don't think Yami Marik was made for him to deal with the abuse, but more-so created out of all the anger as a result of the abuse.
Given what he said in the Japanese version to Yami Marik after being defeated, and heck, being able to still return to our world after losing a shadow game, I think he definitively IS Zorc
@@seimeipayong3850 Oh right, the real purpose of the Bandit Keith duel. I did indeed forget. I still put stock in his final statement to Yami Marik though

King bandit bakura/yami bakura was my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh villains I liked his deck but his dueling skills was weak as hell until season five the only person i know he beat was bonz and he lost against Yami Yugi countless times and Yami Marik defeated him
Yami bakura is Thief King Bakura and Zorc. In memory world, it's clear that Yami Bakura doesn’t remember much of his life as Thief King Bakura after the showdown at the royal court
Marik also becomes more twisted after obtaining the ring. He doesnt even call himself bakura. Zorc could've been involved in their duel since he also had similar goals to TK bakura and Marik
Was it ever explained what happened with Priest Seto in ACTUAL history? Yeah, we got his story in finalle but it was in shadow game. As you know, it's shown that he fought Aten in actual history, so what happened?
Seto and Atem relation is similar to the current timeline. Although Kaiba dueled yugi, he did not participate in any world-destroying shenanigans and even helped yugi at some point. The same thing happened to Seto. In actual history Atem could not defeat zorc, so he gave the throne to seto, and sealed himself together with zorc into millennium puzzle. Seto was the one that created the stone tablet and assigned gravekeeper to guard Atem's tomb.
Priest Seto becomes Pharaoh after Atem seals himself with Zorc into the Millennium Pendant/Puzzle. Because Priest Seto has royal blood being Atem's cousin because Akhenaden and Akhenamkhanen (Atem's dad) are siblings and with Seto being able to call forth Obelisk because of his intellect. Priest Seto now Pharaoh Seto basically puts things in place to guarantee things are set for Atem's return and for Atem to find his way into the Afterlife while also retooling a bit of the Millennium Rod's magic on his reincarnation, as being Pharaoh he would have access to the Millennium Necklace to read the future. This would have the Stone Tablet written so Atem will eventually realize his true name and the Gravekeepers would have been set up to guarantee this. When Pharaoh Seto makes his way into the Afterlife all he needs to do is resolve the plan to save Atem when Atem finds his way into the Afterlife also. Both will then reincarnate around the same time, one as Seto Kaiba and the other as Yugi Muto to tie up loose ends, while becoming Prana (They don't join the collective though) as they chose to be reborn into lives of hardship. Pharaoh Seto basically makes himself the backup plan if the Prana screw up Ascension.
Zorc isn’t gone completely as he is the inventor of shadow games and the shadow charms couldn’t do shadow games if zorc wasn’t still alive zorc will forever be within the ring but he’s def a fusion of bakura and himself that’s why his vessel looks like thief king bakura it’s the same as yugi looking like the pharaoh and kaiba looking like his past self they even mentioned that all the duels that happened for yugi bakura and kaiba were to mirror the past events iirc
Summary: thief king bakuras soul was combined with zorc, when zorc was sealed away.. he also sealed himself in the millenium ring with thief king bakura himself. during the last arc, thief king bakura BEFORE being corrupted and using dark master zorcs power due to the gods being unbeated he was possesed by the bakura we know which is sealed zorc and thief king bakura. when thief king bakura become sand is when the true past thief kibg bakura came back to life
I'm not sure he does exist anymore. That's because the millennium ring was destroyed. I think the zork was destroyed with it. He could still exist has a consciousness or is a spirit perhaps. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of his return. Maybe his soul was destroyed when the millennium ring was. This warrants further thoughts.
One of my biggest pet peeves is that thief king bakuras name is still bakura like atem was always referred to as the pharaoh until he learned his name "atem", this man bakura was reincarnated as the embodiment of good or whatever but his split soul/personality was just past him forced on his "new body" and conveniently had the same name? Yami bakura/ yami yugi make sense to me but like man...

- The Millennium Ring has the ability to sense the presence of other Millennium Items. When Bakura Ryou wears the ring, it resonates with other items like the Millennium Puzzle (worn by Yugi) or the Millennium Eye (worn by Pegasus).
- This sensing ability allows Bakura to locate other bearers of Millennium Items, which becomes crucial in the series.
2. **Dark Spirit Resides Within**:
- The true intrigue lies in the spirit that resides within the ring. Dark Bakura (Yami Bakura) is an ancient malevolent spirit fused with the ring.
- Dark Bakura's consciousness occasionally surfaces, influencing Bakura Ryou's actions. Their connection is both symbiotic and tumultuous.
3. **Dual Nature**:
- Bakura Ryou can use the ring for divination, but he treads carefully not to awaken the dark spirit. The ring's dual nature adds complexity to the character.
- Dark Bakura's motives remain enigmatic. Is he friend or foe? Fans continue to speculate.
In summary, the Millennium Ring serves as a conduit for communication between Bakura and the ancient spirit, while also allowing Bakura to sense other Millennium Items. Its true power lies in the balance between light and darkness. 🌟🔮Certainly! **Yami Bakura**, also known as **Dark Bakura**, is the malevolent spirit residing within the **Millennium Ring** in the *Yu-Gi-Oh!* series. Let's explore his intriguing backstory:
1. **Origin**:
- **3000 years ago** (5000 in the dub), a shard of **Zorc Necrophades's soul** was sealed within the Millennium Ring during its creation.
- Later, **Bandit King Bakura's soul** was also sealed within the same ring, resulting in the fusion of the two souls.
- This fusion gave rise to the enigmatic and cunning Dark Bakura¹.
2. **Possession of Bakura Ryou**:
- Through the Millennium Ring, Bakura Ryou became the host for the spirit.
- Yami Bakura could possess Bakura, even mimicking his host's personality to deceive Bakura's friends.
- Their connection is both symbiotic and tumultuous¹.
3. **Antagonistic Role**:
- Yami Bakura serves as a recurring secondary antagonist throughout most of the series.
- In the final arc, he takes center stage as the main antagonist, engaging in epic duels with Yami Yugi.
- His motives and true nature remain shrouded in mystery, adding to the intrigue¹.
4. **Design**:
- Yami Bakura has fair skin, brown eyes, and white hair that trails down his back.
- His hair points in more directions than Bakura's, and he usually wears whatever Bakura Ryou is wearing.
- The Millennium Ring, worn around his neck, is the conduit for his malevolence¹.
In summary, Dark Bakura's complexity, ancient origins, and dual nature make him a captivating and enduring adversary in the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe. 🃏🌟

I been asking these questions for years.
Glad that somebody finally talked about it
How do the rules of Bakura's shadow game with Atem during the Millennium World arc work?
Its pretty much like a board game. I can do a video on that at some point!
@@MultiversalStudios That board game thing should be a Doctor who episode, have the toymaker challange the Doctor to a game of DND and we see the two outside the game while being characters in the game
Look up thar scene in the manga instead, anime added a lot of unnecessary and strange scenes
Zorc retired and started his own TV show before getting it cancelled and signing a contract with Disney
I think there's still some part of thief king Bakura, and it think this because of present bakura, if thief king bakura had disappeared completely it would be weird for him to have a present reincarnation like Seto, Yugi and Salomon have.
They are NOT reincarnations. They are DOPPELGANGERS.
@@devontehuntley6274 but they never explained how reincarnation works in Yugioh.
Present day bakura is just thief bakura's present day incarnation. Yami bakura is simply zorc enacting his will through bakura.
Legends never die Zorc will return he cannot die
Honestly this is a interesting theory I never thought of it like this but honestly it makes a lot of sense withhow strong Zorc is
It's gotta be Zorc using Thief King Bakura as a Vessel.
I miss Zork and pals.
Hes not dead tho. Zorc will always exist as long as darkness and evil exists, he literally comes back in the dsod movie.
The fragmented idea holds up further when considering that the pharaoh's soul was also fragmented.
Yami bakura the best of all time or Zorc he wanted revenge for his tribe but he is the most powerful character not only in yugioh but in all anime in world he will be in our heart❤❤❤my favorite the best of all character in every anime yami bakura
Can you do a video on what exactly yami Marik is and how different from Yami Yugi and Yami Bakura. Can any one have a yami?
Yes I think i understand that caught well! and I would love to do a video on it XD
Yami Marik is just a secondary personality of Marik created to deal with the abuse Marik received from his father as a child. Marik is the only one in DM to legitimately have DID.
@@ScionStorm1 What the heck is "DID"? I also don't think Yami Marik was made for him to deal with the abuse, but more-so created out of all the anger as a result of the abuse.
@@devontehuntley6274 "Dissociative Identity Disorder". Having multiple personalities.
@@ScionStorm1 And how many people would have figured that out? It helps if you write out something like that. -_-
All 3 versions are 3 separate entities
Given what he said in the Japanese version to Yami Marik after being defeated, and heck, being able to still return to our world after losing a shadow game, I think he definitively IS Zorc
Bakura put a piece of conscious of himself in the piece of puzzle remember?
@@seimeipayong3850 Oh right, the real purpose of the Bandit Keith duel. I did indeed forget. I still put stock in his final statement to Yami Marik though
He still exist. His next avatar was Darkness in GX anime and in the Manga it was tragoedia.
In 5d's it's Red nova.
What a great video
I wish it was longer
Aww thank you XD I'm dropping another video soon, regarding Bakura which will be much longer
If Zorc still exist, that would explain The Shadow Games in GX and 5Ds😅❤
Missed opportunity to make Zorc the earthbound god.
He would have been better as an archfiend monster.
@@kylelundgren5133would make the archfiend a but more busted. Definitely need a zorc card.
I liked what they did with the Board game, In Egyptian myths the Gods can be in many places at once, Atem is the God Atem after all so we saw how the Gods can be in many places at once
I don't think it's a coincidence that in yugioh arc V the main badguy is called Zarc. It's basically just Zorc 2.0
What if bandit Keith had the millennium ring?
Best character
In My opinion it could be end in one or two episodes if just tea duel vs zorc😅
Lmao!!
We need a Freddy vs Jason quarantine for zorc like they did Freddy.
So you have to get all his horcruxes.
I think Ryou Bakura is a reincarnation of Thief Bakura. Except Ryou didn't get tramatized into revenge.
Tl dr
0:05 same at times
Zorc isn’t gone completely as he is the inventor of shadow games and the shadow charms couldn’t do shadow games if zorc wasn’t still alive zorc will forever be within the ring but he’s def a fusion of bakura and himself that’s why his vessel looks like thief king bakura it’s the same as yugi looking like the pharaoh and kaiba looking like his past self they even mentioned that all the duels that happened for yugi bakura and kaiba were to mirror the past events iirc
Summary: thief king bakuras soul was combined with zorc, when zorc was sealed away.. he also sealed himself in the millenium ring with thief king bakura himself. during the last arc, thief king bakura BEFORE being corrupted and using dark master zorcs power due to the gods being unbeated he was possesed by the bakura we know which is sealed zorc and thief king bakura. when thief king bakura become sand is when the true past thief kibg bakura came back to life
Bandit king bakura has a better ring to it
Agreed!
Seto also keeps his name from his past life. He, Bakura and Ishizu are the only ones that inherit names from their past life.
Bae koo rah? It's Bah Coo Ra.
What if Tea Gardner was the main protagonist
I think that will be my video when I hit 10k subs XD so hopefully soon!
Oooh
Okay I understand keep up the good work man
then there wouldn't be any duels. she'd win by the power of friendship speeches.
@@MultiversalStudios Do what if they played Pokemon Instead of Cards, Joey sees Rex raptor kick his Charmander and then adops him instead of a red eyes. Yugi beats Kibas all dragon team with a Shindija , Kiba goes what none of my Pokemon are super effective against it I can't harm it. Yugi laughs there is more to this game then raw power Kiba you should know that by now.
Dj did u forget that dub>sub?😂
The real brain teaser is that yami Marik is the reincarnation of zorc as a whole. Think about THAT
What if Yugi’s grandfather never had Exodia?
Ohhhhhh interesting what if idea
Im gonna legit rewatch season 5 i paid no attention, i literally only made fun of them-
Lmao why did u make fun of them XD

Your only talking about their king bakura and zorc
Ting is zorc is shadowrealm it self he cant be destory just like light cant be destory he cen only be benish or seal away own realm or millennium item even dead just return shadowrealm
